Winter hiking trail Amden-Holz

This leisurely circular hike starts directly in the village of Amden at the valley station of the Mattstock chairlift. From there, the hiking path ascends and leads up to Holz.

Above Strichboden, it's worth taking a short detour to the Schnee Bar, which is located right next to the ski piste - ideal for a short break with a great view.

If you still have energy afterwards, you can extend the hike to Hinter Höhi. The high moorland area there impresses in winter with its unspoilt nature and idyllic tranquillity.

There are several options for the way back:

• Cosy option: The route leads via the Walau restaurant, which delights with Swiss cuisine and a wonderful panoramic terrace. It is located right next to the mountain station of the Mattstock chairlift. From here, you can take the chairlift back to the village in comfort.

• Return on foot: Alternatively, a short section on the piste takes you back to the main trail, which then leads back along the road to Amden.
