Wegebeschaffenheit
The ascent to Leistchamm requires quite a level of fitness. The path is steep – but rewarding! The hike starts from Arvenbüel, the higher part of Amden. The path initially climbs moderately past Alp Egg in the direction of Alp Looch and up to First. From here, you make your way up the steep ascent to the summit of the Leistchamm.
Spectacular Summit with Magnificent Views
The steep ascent is worth it. In good weather, you may enjoy a magnificent view from the striking foothills of the Churfirsten. These range from the distant Säntis over the Churfirsten, to Walenstadt and across Lake Walensee to the Mürtschenstock and the Glarus Alps. There is also a beautiful view of the village of Amden and its mountains. After a the well-deserved breakfast on the summit, you return the same way and descend to the First and back to Arvenbüel.
