The idyllic Linth promenade offers interesting sights as well as many play and recreational opportunities. A large number of benches invite you to linger and enjoy some ice cream.
What to Discover from the Harbour
Starting at the harbor near the fish hatchery, the Linth promenade leads past the children's playground and then continues south to the boat station. The water level column on the small peninsula shows the water level during flooding, which regularly impacted the town until the 19th century. Since then, the Linth Canal, built in 1811, has diverted the Linth via Lake Walensee into the upper Lake Zurich.
Sequoia and 150 Other Species of Plants and Trees
An impressive eye-catcher is the 35 meter high sequoia tree, one of the last ones in Switzerland. In the Kurfürstenpark along the Linth promenade, visitors can discover 150 different species of plants and trees.
Nature and Old Town
Those who walk further along the Linth promenade will discover quieter stretches of path and impressive views of the Alpine peaks. Alternatively, the old town of Weesen offers numerous opportunities to stop and stroll.
