Originally built in 2006 as a facility for water sports and catering, the Lago Mio complex has been used for various purposes in recent years. Whilst the catering section of the building will remain as it is, the other half of the building is being given a new lease of life. The premises will now be made more widely accessible and once again made available to the public for water sports activities. At the heart of the offering is the automated rental station for water sports equipment. Specifically, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks and canoes. Rental is handled digitally, enabling flexible and accessible use without the need for staff supervision. Courses and guided tours are also planned.
The concept for the Lago Mio Water Sports Centre also envisages year-round use: whilst water sports take centre stage during the summer months, the reduced range of water sports equipment available in winter will be supplemented by a mobile sauna, adding to the centre’s appeal. This will make a significant contribution to creating a year-round, continuous offering that can be enjoyed by both local residents and visitors alike.
