Hinter Höhi Winter Hiking Trail [Route 190]

Amden is already known as a sun terrace above Lake Walensee. This winter hiking trail to Hinter Höhi is even described as the "sunniest trail in the region".

Fantastic Views

While riding on the Mattstock chairlift towards Walau, there is time to slow down. Once on the mountain, the panorama with the Glarus Alps and the Linth plain presents itself from its most beautiful side. From here, the trail leads over the Strichboden alp past sparse woodland towards Hinter Höhi.

The Most Beautiful Snow Landscapes

The high moor may be glimpsed under the thick blanket of snow. In autumn, it is also worth a visit as it glows in the most beautiful colors. Now, white landscape and blue sky forms the picture. Once you reach Hinter Höhi, you can enjoy a magnificent view over Toggenburg and the surrounding countryside.

A Cozy Stop-Off

The Hinter Höhi forms a mountain saddle between Gulmen and Mattstock. In summer, the hiking trail leads from the top of the pass further down into Toggenburg. On the way back, you can take a detour to the Holzstübli restaurant just below the path. A nice end to this wonderful hike.
