The circular tour from Fli via Sattel, Brand and Gufler leads along "hidden" hiking trails. Once you master the challenging sections you will be rewarded with magnificent views of Lake Walensee.
Circular Route with Challenges
In addition to the signposted hiking trails, there are other paths with public rights of way (see e.g. road classification on geoportal.ch). This tour takes you on such a path, which is not marked as a hiking trail, but still offers a path to hike.
Then, you follow the signposted hiking trail again, which leads down to Flibach, via Gufler and Kirchgasse back to Fli. The circular route takes a good two hours. The path via Sattel to Brand is challenging and you should avoid it in rainy or wet conditions.
Along the Stream into the Romantic Valley
At the Fligarage, you walk along Mülistrasse until you reach the inconspicuous "Sagibach" stream. After the bridge on the left, directly in front of the car shelter, the hiking trail starts and leads along the stream on the east side.
200 meters later, the path crosses over a small bridge to the other side of the stream and you find yourself in the romantic "Tränental", where the hiking trail turns left and shortly afterwards changes sides again over a metal bridge.
After a long loop, you come up to the gate at the "Sattel" property. Here the path leads along the edge of the forest and then north, past the stable and diagonally up across the meadow. From here you have a wonderful view over the vineyard to Lake Walensee.
Across Idyllic Forest and Lush Meadows
The route continues via Hochbüel up into the forest and along a narrow hiking trail to Sagibach, which you can cross in one big step.
The trail then climbs steeply up the "Isenegg" ridge. Here you can still see some of the tracks used to bring the timber to the sawmill in Fli.
After a good hour and 450 meters in altitude, you cross a fence and reach the meadow by the fire, where you walk along the edge of the forest on the left and meet the hiking trail at the top.
