The district of Arvenbüel lies perched above Lake Walensee on a high plateau. At around 1300 metres above sea level, the region stretches between Chapf, Leistchamm and Gulme.
Around 200 people live in Arvenbüel all year round. There are also numerous holiday homes and flats that are being used as second homes and are sometimes available for short-time rentals. It is not without reason that the village is chosen as a favourite holiday destination. In winter, the popular family ski area offers many easy slopes and is therefore particularly popular amongst children and beginners. Here you can find the Amden ski school. Arvenbüel is the ideal starting point for winter adventures of any kind, ranging from winter hikes, to snowshoe or ski tours.
A spectacular view over Lake Walensee, the Glarus Alps and the Linth region opens up from the Chapf vantage point. The viewpoint is one of the most beautiful vantage points in the region and can be reached on a leisurely walk in around 20 minutes from the Arvenbüel centre.
During the summer months, Arvenbüel is a popular starting point for (mountain) hikes. The Ammler Höhenweg and the summit hike to Leistchamm are particularly popular hiking destinations.
