The route starts in the village center of Amden and initially leads steadily downhill towards Betlis. This picturesque village is located on the southern slope of the cliffs of Amden, offering the perfect climate for growing grapes, figs and even palm trees. The Paradiesli restaurant with its beautiful garden terrace is a wonderful place to stop for deliscious home-made food fresh from the farm.
Between Lake and Waterfall
In addition to Betlis itself, the impressive Seerenbach Falls with the Rinquelle (Rin spring) are a highlight of the hike. They are particularly impressive in spring after the snow has melted or after heavy rainfall. Not far from the waterfall is another powerful place - the Betlis chapel. From here, the view sweeps across the deep blue waters of Lake Walensee with a fantastic mountain backdrop. Beautiful to marvel at!
Mediterranean Flair in Quinten
After a cool refreshment at the waterfall, the second stage continues towards Quinten. There is a short climb to master before the hiking trail leads downhill to the village of 40 inhabitants. Quinten is located on the steep northern shore of Lake Walensee and is reachable only on foot or by boat. In this way, you may sense the omnipresent peace and tranquillity of the idyllic village. Thanks to its sunny location, Quinten has a Mediterranean climate. Figs, kiwis and even bananas grow here. A boat trip back invites you to reflect on the experiences of this beautiful hike.
