Walenstadt - Quinten

The hike starts at the train station in Walenstadt. First, you follow the signs through the small town, reaching to the beach after about 25 minutes. Here, the uphill path begins. 

Breathtaking views along beautiful landscapes

During the next 1.5 hours you climb a little more than 400 meters on a gravel road. At the top, the view opens up to the Churfirsten moutains, which adorn the north side of Lake Walensee.

After enjoying this breathtaking view, you move on - passed the organic farm Garadur, and then downhill through wooded areas. Every now and then, the clear blue Lake Walensee shimmers through the branches of the trees. Reaching Gändli, the path is continuing on a flat level. 

A variety of flora and fauna adorn the path and make it a natural experience. Each step you take is accompanied by the sounds of the goats and the sheep in the background. Passing the Au boat landing stage, the path follows along rugged rock faces. Again and again, hidden niches appear on the lake, inviting you to take a dip into the water.

Relaxing time in Quinten

Finally, you reach the destination: Quinten. The little village nestled in vineyards is only reachable by foot or boat. Various restaurants invite you to linger. The local shops with handmade and local products are also worth a visit.
