Ski Area Mattstock
The Mattstock ski area offers winter fun for beginners and families. More demanding skiers will be challenged on the red slopes. Several restaurants and rustic piste huts turn every break into a mini timeout. No ski circus, just relaxation.
Im Skigebiet
The rustic Mattstock chairlift takes snow sports enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation directly from the village of Amden up to Niederschlag. Here you can either take the downhill run back to the valley station or continue to the Bärenfall ski lift. The lift will bring skiers and snowboarders up to about 1634 metres above sea level and offers thrilling slopes for the more advanced. The numerous restaurants and ski huts along the slopes spoil you with traditional specialities and modern cuisine.
A paradise for winter hikers and sun seekers
A well-maintained winter hiking trail leads from the top station of the Mattstock chairlift to Hintere Höhi. The view of the snow-covered winter landscape and the surrounding peaks is magical. The day is crowned with a hot chocolate or a coffee on one of the sun-drenched restaurant terraces on the mountain.
Important to know:
The Mattstock and Arvenbüel ski areas are not connected, but are served by an hourly bus service. If you have a day or season ticket, you can travel for free on the public bus. The ski pass can also be purchased directly on the bus.
There are paid car parks in Amden, but these can get crowded on sunny days or during peak holiday times. You can easily reach Amden by public transport. From the train station in Ziegelbrücke the bus runs frequently every half an hour.
