Quinten - Au

A unique piece of nature can be found in Quinten, a small village on the northern shore of Lake Walensee. A short boat trip from Murg, Weesen or Walenstadt takes you to the idyllic village, which is only reachable by boat or on foot. As soon as you arrive, you will be captivated by the enchanting tranquillity of the car-free village. Thanks to its unique location, Quinten has an almost Mediterranean climate. Small restaurants and a cellar shop with home-made delicacies invite you to discover local specialties and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere by Lake Walensee.

Mediterranean Climate and Fantastic Views

Along the lakeshore towards Au you may discover fig, banana and persimmon trees, adding to the special charm of this walk. The flat path leads past numerous resting places where you can linger on the lakeshore and enjoy breathtaking views of the Glarus mountains. Whether for a swim in summer or to soak up the sun on cold winter days - you can do this walk at any time of the year! There is also a fireplace along the way, so you can combine the walk with a barbecue or a picnic. Once you arrive in Au, take the boat back to the parking lot or to another destination on Lake Walensee.
