Swimming Lessons  

Children's swimming lessons, from the Crab to the Polar Bear badges, are available at the Badchäppli swimming school.

Daniela Büsser offers swimming lessons for children aged 4 and above at her Badchäppli swimming school in the Amden indoor pool, where they can learn the basics of swimming and improve their swimming skills. The courses are held at the Amden indoor swimming pool and comprise of various levels, ranging from the beginner level “Crab” to the advanced level “Polar Bear.”

The flexible course offers take the different needs into account. Swimming lessons are offered on the following days: Monday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon, and Thursday afternoon. This allows you to choose the day and level that suits you best.

The swimming school has been awarded the Swiss quality label for swimming schools. 

The main objective of the Swiss quality label is to improve the quality of swimming instruction in terms of technique, methodology, pedagogy, and organization within the framework of promoting swimming as a sport. Swimsports, together with its members, is the initiator and promoter of this label. The efforts of the associations and partners of aQuality.ch are supported by Youth and Sport J+S.

Swimming Tests for children & adolescents

Below is the overview of the different swim badges

  • 4 to 5 years

    Course content for the “Crab” swimming badge: Water familiarization, breathing and diving, swimming techniques, water safety, coordination, and endurance. Children learn through play and achieve important milestones in swimming. Experienced instructors support them on this exciting journey.

  • 4 to 5 years

    The swimming badge courses for the “Seahorse” badge teach basic swimming skills. Course content: getting used to the water, diving, gliding, breathing, leg kicks, and arm strokes. Children also learn how to behave safely in the water.

  • 5 to 6 years

    The “Frog” swimming badge course focuses on basic swimming skills. Children learn how to get used to the water, dive, glide, breathe, kick their legs, and move their arms. The course also covers water safety and rescue exercises.

  • 5 to 6 years

    The "Penguin" Swimming Badge course teaches important swimming skills. Children learn how to get used to the water, dive, glide, breathe, kick their legs, and move their arms. The focus is also on improving swimming technique and endurance. Water safety and rescue exercises are also part of the course. 

  • 6 to 7 years

    The "Octopus" swimming badge course covers a wide range of swimming skills. The course content includes water familiarization, diving, gliding, breathing, leg kicks, and arm strokes. Children also learn various swimming techniques such as breaststroke and backstroke. The Squid badge also includes exercises to improve water management, rescue exercises, and water safety.

  • 6 to 7 years

    The "Crocodile" Swimming Badge course offers further development of swimming skills. Children learn advanced techniques such as front crawl and backstroke. The course content also includes distance swimming, improving water position, starting dives, and turns. Water safety and rescue exercises are also part of the course. 

  • 6 to 8 years

    The "Polar Bear" Swimming Badge course offers challenging content to further improve swimming skills. The course content includes techniques such as front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke. Children also learn how to dive to greater depths, jump from the starting block, and swim distances. The course also includes rescue exercises, water safety, and knowledge about dangers in the water.
